to The Wine Place, a relaxed and friendly wine shop
nestled on the
central Oregon coast in the charming village of Yachats.
Owned and operated by Carrie Yano, The Wine Place is
located next
door to Gourmet Lady, a cheery storefront offering 600
gourmet and
specialty food items, with an on-line business as well.
With Yano's
practical knowledge of food and wine, The Wine Place is a
natural
complement to Gourmet
Lady.
Upon opening the gourmet food boutique in May 2004,
enthusiastic
customers snatched up countless bottles of quality Oregon
wine.
Yano quickly realized she needed more space to keep pace
with the
demand. In November 2004, The Wine Place was born.
Together, the
shops provide the ideal pairing: Gourmet food. Choice
wines.
The Wine Place features an extensive selection of
regional wines
along with offerings from national and international
vintners. Encouraging
the enjoyment of life's little pleasures, the shop
promotes local
vineyards with complimentary wine tasting every afternoon
as well
as frequent, informal opportunities to meet and mingle
with Oregon
winemakers. The Wine Place also offers wine-by-the-glass.
In addition, The Wine Place occasionally hosts guided
tasting and
special events. These entertaining and informative
evenings include
wine tasting, appetizers, and informal conversation about
the winemaking
process and food pairings.
